Physical Changes and Recovery After Quitting Smoking

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your body. It takes a long time for you to completely heal, but many of the benefits start within just a few days!

Twenty minutes after putting your last smoke out, your blood pressure and heart rate have returned to normal. Twelve hours later, oxygen levels in your blood have returned to normal. At this point, your blood's nicotine is roughly a twentieth of when you were smoking.

After a day, you get into the (not so) fun part of quitting. As your body rids itself of nicotine, anxiety begins to increase. On the second and third day, cravings, irritability, and anxiety are at an all time high. This is tobacco's last stand against you, don't let it give in!

At the end of the third day, there's very little to no nicotine left in your body. Your lungs are healing, and you may notice increased coughing as mucous production returns and begins spitting out all the crud in your lungs. With the nicotine gone, your cravings become purely mental. For some people, this can be very difficult. For you, it will be very easy (to see why, read on to the end of this article!)

After a week, your withdrawal symptoms will subside. One further week and you will feel very little withdrawal, and your cravings, sleep problems, and depression associated with smoking will be drastically reduced.

One year later, your risk of heart disease will be half that of a smoker!

Remember what I said earlier about the mental part of quitting being difficult for some people? You won't have to worry about that, because of a guide called The EasyQuit System that shows you how to defeat your mental ties with smoking right as you're quitting!

If you're having trouble quitting smoking, this guide is the best thing you can do for yourself. Pick up a copy and quit today!
