The Most Important Part of Quitting Smoking

The most important part of quitting smoking isn't which method you use. It isn't if you're using a nicotine replacement product, if you're quitting cold turkey, if you're being hypnotized, or whatever. Years from now, after you've rid your life of cigarettes, you aren't going to care how you quit. It won't matter, because you won't be choking yourself with the awful things. That's the only part that does matter.

So, what is the most important part of quitting smoking? You. This is why there are millions of different ways to stop your smoking addiction out there: every person is different. What works for you might not work for somebody else.

"That's great to know, so what?" you might be asking. What I want you to take away from this article is that quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for yourself, but it does no good at all to talk about it or plan for it or anything other than actually going it.

It all boils down to motivating yourself and sticking to whatever plan you have for stopping smoking. The greatest plan in the world isn't worth anything if nobody uses it, so don't wait until next week, next month, or next year. You're still smoking, and every cigarette you light is both shortening your life and making the time you spend now miserable.

If this post makes just one person quit smoking, it will have done its job. As a former long-time smoker, I can tell you that as a smoker, you have forgotten how good life is without smoking. Until you've been free from cigarettes and nicotine for several months, you won't realize just how trapped and miserable being a cigarette smoker really is.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking down on you or anyone who smokes. Smoking is a horrible addiction, and I know you've heard that thousands of times before, but the worst part is that you don't realize what it's done to your self esteem and happiness until you've gotten out. Trust me when I say that there's so much about life that you will enjoy so much more after you quit, but only you can bring yourself to that point.

If this is your first time here, I encourage you to browse through the site and make the right decision. All the information you need to quit is right here, it's just up to you to put it to use. And when you're done with quitting, please come back and let us know how we've helped!
